Flyers Nip Dogfish Head, 3-2
|
Milton got a terrific performance from pitcher Neil Franson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pennsauken Flyers. Pennsauken won the Pennsauken Park contest, 3-2. Franson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. The win was credited to Willis Pittman in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Neil Franson took the loss. Pennsauken goes to 36-33, Milton to 30-39.
In the bottom of the first, Bras Castanheta hit a 2-run single for Pennsauken. The 66th hit of the season for the Pennsauken third baseman put the Flyers on top, 2-1.
In postgame comments to the Pennsauken Today, Castanheta said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
