The Austin Black Mambas stopped the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 11-8, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The Black Mambas got a big game from Joe Schreibvogel, who went 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. The save was credited to Silverberry Mouhon, his 6th. Austin is now 33-34, while Ellenburg is 30-37.
Austin used the timely hitting of Cal MacKim to capture the win. The right fielder socked a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Black Mambas ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Schreibvogel told reporters after the game.
