The Sioux Falls Red Pandas took Pawnee pitcher Kent Martin's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Whips Ballpark. The final score had Sioux Falls getting past the ParksNRec, 2-1. Martin went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 8. The winner was Gerald Keller in relief. His record improves to 6-3. Kent Martin took the loss. Marcos Mesorana, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Sioux Falls used the bat of Wilbur Davis to get the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Red Pandas ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Davis. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
