Austin left-hander Lance Barber made an effective start against the Augusta Timber Hawks at Timber Hawks Ballpark, leading his team to a 2-0 win. Craig Wash converted his 8th save in 10 tries. Austin, now 30-31, holds 6th place in the Menard's AAA.

Austin used the timely hitting of Armando Viña to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Black Mambas on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Barber told the Austin Times.
