5-Hit Blitz by Hamilton's Soto
|
Hamilton starting pitcher Luis Soto could do no wrong in today's 10-3 win over the Flyers as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Flyers skipper Willis Crawford said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Soto agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Luis Soto hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Al Gagne in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
To this point in the season, Soto shows a 2-4 record, 8 starts, 37.2 innings, 31 strikeouts and a 5.50 ERA.
