Tight Tilt Goes to Buzz, 3-2
|
Salt Lake City designated hitter Falco Opsteegh made his presence felt in the 3-2 Buzz triumph over the Austin Black Mambas. Opsteegh was 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. Zuo-lin Liang, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held the Black Mambas to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 5. Austin has now lost 5 consecutive games.
With Salt Lake City leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Opsteegh hit a sinker from Francisco Rivas for a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Buzz ahead, 3-0.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Austin manager Juan Cuestas. "The effort was great."
