Pride Drop Black Mambas with Late Score
|
The exploits of left fielder Peer Kattenberg, who is tied for 4th in the 3AAA in hits with 18, helped the Hartford Pride defeat the Austin Black Mambas, 10-2. Kattenberg went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Hartford reliever Dan Bell was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Abdul-Nasir Rabah took the loss for Austin. The Pride, with just their 3rd win so far in 2040, have yet to catch fire.
Hartford took a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, shortstop Nathan Pruitt hit a grand slam home run that brought the crowd to its feet.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Pruitt told the Hartford Times.
