Fans who came to The Bamboo Forest watched the Plymouth Rocks and the Sioux Falls Red Pandas fight to the finish.
The inspired effort of Sioux Falls left fielder Norbert Ingalsbe was not enough to prevent a 5-4 loss to the Plymouth Rocks. Ingalsbe was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Plymouth reliever Brian Guilbert picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Kenete Daku was collared with the loss. T.J. Juckson finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Plymouth used the timely hitting of Lex van Esch to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rocks on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"Both teams played hard," said Plymouth manager Jerome Perry.
With their winning streak at 5, the Rocks have raced to a strong start this season.
