Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Oliver Villalva, the Long Island Lighthouse defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers, 4-3. Villalva went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Lighthouse. Greg Hodge was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. Onson Sweemey got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Long Island took a 4-3 lead on Villalva's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Tom DeHart in the top of the sixth, propelled Long Island to the win.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Villalva.
With the loss, Brooklyn sinks to 7-8.
