The Grey Wolves grabbed a win, 3-2, at The Cattle Pen, overcoming a fine effort from Ft. Worth pitcher Gustavo Tobías. Tobías went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Ray Skipworth, credited with the win, is now 2-3. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings. Even with the win, the Grey Wolves have a dismal 33-73 record.

Vancouver used the timely hitting of John Hawley to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Grey Wolves on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Vancouver skipper David Krause.
