Northern Lions BC Come Back Late to Top Dirty Reds
|
A 3-RBI performance from catcher Sébastien Cornu, who finished 5th in the SL in home runs with 26 in 2037, led the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC to a 6-4 win over the San Mateo Dirty Reds. Mannus Dijkman got credit for the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1 innings. Thunder Bay now has a 6-game win streak.
Cornu had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 cutter from Barney Starr, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Northern Lions BC a 5-2 lead. It was the 29th home run of the year for Cornu.
Cornu told a Thunder Bay Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
