Long Island Celebrates Wild Card Win Wednesday, September 7th, 2039 For a team that has never won a SL R Championship, how you get to the postseason isn't the important part. The important part is simply that you get there and thus, the Long Island Ducks excitedly celebrated their USSL Rookie wild card berth tonight. "There's only one thing that everyone on this team wants and that's to be champions. We want to bring a title home to Long Island and this is the first step," said reliever Doug Ross. "Of course we would have loved to win the division, but we look forward to the challenge ahead." It will be the 1st USSL Rookie championship in franchise history for the team if they can pull it off. "That's the ultimate goal," added the reliever. |
