Hitting Streak Still Alive for Semprún Sunday, June 26th, 2039 Long Island lost to the Franklin Fire 2-0 at Ducks Park today, but Ramón Semprún kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 2 hits. The Ducks second baseman has now delivered hits in 20 straight games. "Ramón has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Long Island manager Martin Stewart told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Ramón Semprún doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 9th. This year Semprún is batting .380 with 38 hits and no home runs. He has scored 13 times and has batted in 11 runs. |
