Jimmy Pineda Injured, Out for Season Friday, June 10th, 2039 The doctors have spoken and Jimmy Pineda of the Atlantic City Sonics didn't like what he heard. The 27-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Pineda sustained his season-ending injury during the Minnesota Loons game yesterday at Sonics Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Atlantic City medical staff reported Pineda had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months. To date this year Pineda has compiled a 1-2 mark with a 2.98 ERA in 6 starts. |
