Fry Grabs PAA Reliever of the Year Award

At the age of 24, Ryan Fry says he still has a lot to learn about life in USPL Double A.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2039 USPL Double A Reliever of the Year Award.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Poway, California native said.

For the season, Fry had 16 saves in 34 relief appearances, which totaled 56.2. He fanned 40 betters, while walking 7 and put up a record of 4-2 to go with his 1.75 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 10. Ralph Owens of the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Dave Lawson of the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks finished third.
