Stokes Gets Shutout Tuesday, August 16th, 2039 In an outstanding mound performance, Biloxi Shuckers starter Dan Stokes fired a complete-game shutout against the Ottawa Nationals at Nationals Park today. Stokes was the key to the Shuckers's 4-0 win. The 21-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 1 hit and 3 walks he allowed. "1 hit?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." This season Stokes has chalked up no saves, notched a 3-4 record with a 3.96 ERA, allowed 77 hits in his 86.1 innings of work, struck out 87 and walked 33.
