Big 3-HR Day for Hubbard Saturday, July 2nd, 2039 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Field of the Rawhides were taking cover all day long as Alan Hubbard zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Bethesda third baseman helped the Atoms take the victory, 7-4, over the Belvedere Park Rawhides. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 6 and scored 3 runs. Alan Hubbard hit a two-run home run off Sean Halls in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Sean Halls in the 4th, walked in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Elliot Rickard in the 11th. This year Hubbard is hitting .238 with 11 home runs and 28 RBIs in 48 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .308 with 19 walks and 26 runs scored. |
