Veteran Hernández Hits Three Dingers Saturday, May 28th, 2039 Tortolita Drummers second baseman Xavier Hernández had a magnificent game against the Alloway Halberds today, rocketing three balls out of Ballpark of Alloway to help the Drummers take the 9-2 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Hernández went 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Tortolita manager Wilson Alvarado said later. "Seems like Xavier found his home run stroke today." Xavier Hernández hit a solo-shot off Carlos Simon in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Carlos Simon in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ryan Dull in the 5th and walked in the 7th. This year Hernández has hit 5 home runs and posted a .297 batting average. |
