Díaz Bashes 3 HR for Hialeah Thursday, September 15th, 2039 Hialeah Dodos left fielder Jorge Díaz slugged three home runs against the Port Royal Disaster at Ballpark of Port Royal, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Disaster spoiled his day by defeating the Dodos, 11-8. "The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Jorge had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," Hialeah manager Nick Allen. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Jorge, he would have preferred a win." For the game, Díaz was 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Díaz said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too." Jorge Díaz grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Dean Cross in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Dean Cross in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Christian Clayton in the 9th. Díaz has a .237 average and a .285 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 101 hits, 30 home runs and driven in 72 runs. |
