Alloway's Gonzáles Snaps Up Player of the Week Monday, August 1st, 2039 In the twilight of his career, 35-year-old Manny Gonzáles of Alloway recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the USSL Triple A Player of the Week Award. "I've been playing since I was a kid," Gonzáles told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success." Gonzáles outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 8 hits in 18 at-bats, 1 home run, and 9 RBIs to stake his claim to the award. So far this year Gonzáles is hitting .269 with 7 home runs. |
