Santa Barbara's Cottongame Gets PAAA Player of the Week Monday, August 22nd, 2039 22-year-old Braxton Cottongame made a few Santa Barbara headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USPL Triple A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 11 hits in 26 at-bats to put up a .423 average. Cottongame collected 6 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 7 runs. To date this season Cottongame is hitting .305 with 22 home runs. |
