Muinos and Sawyer Fight, Get Suspended Saturday, September 24th, 2039 Yesterday at LA Forum Tomás Muinos and Davis Sawyer got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Echo Park Lakers and Brooklyn Dodgers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Muinos will have to sit out 4 while Sawyer would be given a 8-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Muinos is presently hitting at a .288 pace with 23 home runs and 54 RBIs. He has played in 89 games and scored 56 times. For the season Sawyer has compiled a 3-4 record with a 6.20 ERA. |
