Murakami Ups Hit Streak to 32 Consecutive Games
Tuesday, August 9th, 2039
The St. Louis Coeur fell to the Oakland Oaks in The BFIB today, even as 30-year-old second baseman Nobuhisa Murakami upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 32 games. Murakami finished with 2 hits in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Coeur from dropping the 2-1 decision.
"Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Murakami. Nobuhisa Murakami grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Kevin Nogilny in the 9th.
So far this year, Murakami is batting .346 with 3 home runs and 32 RBIs.
