Tula End Griffin's Streak Thursday, June 9th, 2039 Jeff Griffin, center fielder for the Chicago Gold Sox, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Chicago Tula today. Not only did the Tula break his 21-game hitting streak, they also beat Chicago by the score of 2-0. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Griffin said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." For the season, Griffin is hitting at a .326 clip with 1 home run, 12 RBIs and has scored 23 runs. He has 44 hits, 10 walks and a .381 on-base percentage. |
