Season Over for Ettore Guizzardi in Galesburg Sunday, July 10th, 2039 The doctors have spoken and Ettore Guizzardi of the Galesburg Guzzlers didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Guizzardi sustained his season-ending injury during the Delaware 1787 BC game yesterday at Carrier Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Galesburg medical staff reported Guizzardi had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months. This season Guizzardi has made 16 relief appearances, pitched 30 innings and struck out 42 with a record of 1 win and 3 losses. He has compiled a 3.00 ERA and saved 4 games. |
