League Suspends Phoenix's Kelley Thursday, June 16th, 2039 Shortly after yesterday's Hotspur U-21-Arryns game ended, Allen Kelley's on-field tantrum seemed almost comical. In response to being ejected for questioning a called third strike, the Phoenix center fielder tossed his hat to the dirt and kicked it repeatedly. He couldn't help but laugh at himself and his over-the-top, hat-kicking, anger-laced tirade. "It was funny," Kelley said. "I was hoping I could kick it all the way to the dugout." The umpiring crew, however, didn't find it funny and neither did the league. Though Kelley said he did not think his actions warranted a suspension, he will miss 4 games. So far this year Kelley is batting .269 with no home runs. |
