José Reyes Hurt, Out for Year
Wednesday, August 24th, 2039
The doctors have spoken and José Reyes of the Lake Erie Arryns didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Reyes sustained his season-ending injury during the Laredo Hawks game yesterday at Hawks Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Lake Erie medical staff reported Reyes had bone chips in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5-6 months.
Reyes has posted a 1-10 record for the year with a 4.34 ERA. Teams are hitting .302 against him and he has rung up 90 strikeouts in 93.1 innings.
