No-Hit Masterpiece by Bane
Thursday, May 19th, 2039
The Idaho Falls Chukars relied on no-hit stuff from starter Liam Bane to defeat the Kennesaw Jets 4-0 at Jets Stadium today.
"It's quite a thrill," Bane told the media afterward. "This is a top-notch league. A no-hitter against any team in the league is something special. I can't believe I did it."
To get his name logged in the M3L Single A records, he stopped Kennesaw cold and hitless, surrendering 2 walks and fanning 9 of the 29 batters he faced.
Idaho Falls manager Sherwood Baker was in a jovial mode after the game, kidding with reporters that Bane "made managing easy today."
"I didn't have hardly any decisions to make like I usually do," he said. "I didn't even have to come up with a pinch hitter."
