Vargas and Gao Fight, Get Suspended Friday, September 2nd, 2039 After an intense confrontation, both the River Rats Robinson Vargas and the Generals Pie-qi Gao were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Columbia-Washington game. Robinson Vargas will miss 3 games, while Pie-qi Gao was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Robinson Vargas commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." So far in 2039 Vargas is batting .226 with 1 home run, 12 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 14 hits in 62 at-bats and a .333 OBP. This year Gao has posted a 0-3 mark in 6 starts and has a 5.28 ERA. |
