Las Vegas's Castillo Sidelined for Season
Tuesday, September 20th, 2039
When Javier Castillo was hurt against the Portland Evergreens, the Las Vegas Flamingos were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 37-year-old reliever suffered a torn rotator cuff throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Castillo would miss 10-11 months of the season.
His stats sheet for the year shows Castillo has managed to hold opponents to a .281 average in 40 relief appearances, while putting up 5-2 record with 52 strikeouts and 22 walks in 77 innings. He has a 5.14 ERA with 1 save.
