The Oakland Oaks did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the San Mateo Dirty Reds at Oakland Coliseum. Nobody did more than pitcher Elroy Quaid, who captured player of the game honors. The 4th-place Oaks raised their record to 45-47.

In the bottom of the 6th, shortstop Silvian Burger gave Oakland the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Oaks had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out double off San Mateo pitcher Matt Digby changed that -- and Oakland went on to win.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Quaid.
