Northern Lions BC Win at Buffalo, 6-3
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC defeated the Buffalo White Walkers, 6-3. Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Barry Flauker, who was 1 for 3 with a walk. He scored 2 times. Thunder Bay reliever Jasper Kirby was credited with the win, to go to 2-3. Dave Dunn took the loss for Buffalo. The Northern Lions BC move to 37-47 with the win, while the White Walkers drop to 57-27.
Thunder Bay used the timely hitting of Gilberto Ocasio to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Northern Lions BC ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ocasio.
