Coeur Topple Cattlemen, 7-5
|
St. Louis shortstop Ik-jun Cho made his presence felt in the 7-5 Coeur triumph over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen. Cho went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Alfonso Caballero picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 7-5. With the win, the Coeur have a record of 34-50.
Cho contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for St. Louis in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-0, Cho took a cutter from Gustavo Tobías and stroked the home run to left. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Coeur to leap in front, 3-2.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said St. Louis manager Scott McMahon.
