White Walkers Lose to Dirty Reds, 7-1
|
The Dirty Reds had to overcome a fine performance from Buffalo pitcher Zhao-ji Qiu to grab a 7-1 win at Lang Park. Qiu allowed 2 earned runs over 7.1 innings. San Mateo reliever José Barquero picked up the win to move to 4-1. Zhao-ji Qiu suffered the loss. The 4th-place Dirty Reds now have a win-loss record of 41-40.
San Mateo catcher Jimmy Scott went deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run off Buffalo pitcher Zhao-ji Qiu put the Dirty Reds in front, 2-0. It was his 9th home run of the season.
"We take it day by day here," said Scott, "and today was a good one for us."
