Cattlemen Sneak Past Oaks, 6-5

Ft. Worth withstood an impressive performance by Oakland center fielder Jim McMahon to defeat the Oaks, 6-5, at The Cattle Pen. McMahon was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Ft. Worth reliever Jack Buyse picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Larry Strozier was saddled with the loss. Oakland has now lost 4 consecutive games.
José Corona hit a run-scoring double off Larry Strozier in the bottom of the tenth, which put the Cattlemen in front, 6-5. In addition to the double, Corona had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson.
