In a tight battle between the Portland Evergreens and the Boston Patriots, pitcher Natalino Golaio was in the zone. The Portland right-hander was named the player of the game in Portland's 1-0 win. Had Orlando Samundio not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Samundio hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Evergreens.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Boston manager Tyler Carter said following the tough loss.
