Dirty Reds Lose to Lighthouse, 4-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Long Island Lighthouse got the win.
Lighthouse left fielder Oliver Villalva put his stamp on his team's 4-2 win over the San Mateo Dirty Reds. Villalva went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Long Island in the contest. San Mateo, at 35-35, has lost 4 straight.
Villalva had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 forkball from CB Huntington, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Lighthouse a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Villalva.
Villalva attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
