Cattlemen Slip Past Charleston, 4-3

Charleston got a terrific performance from pitcher Eric Matson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Ft. Worth Cattlemen. Ft. Worth won the Charleston Armory contest, 4-3. Matson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. Ft. Worth reliever Gojong Joseon picked up the win to move to 3-0. Branlyn Jaraba suffered the loss. The win puts the Cattlemen at 37-28, while the Battery drop to 39-26.
Daryl Yandell aided the Ft. Worth cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Charleston manager Matt Hunt. "The effort was great."
