Charleston turned a good effort from starter Melvin Tiburcio into a win over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at Charleston Armory. The final score was 4-1. Tiburcio went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 5, and struck out 8. His record improves to 8-3. Charleston has now won 3 in a row.
Scott Kerin hit a 2-run double off Armando Romano in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Battery in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Kerin had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
