Almost There: Northern Virginia On Cusp of R2040 Triumph After 6-4 Win
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids moved to within one game of the Round 2041 today, downing the New Orleans Voodoo on the road at The Voodoo Lounge by a score of 6-4. Rainbow Mermaids first baseman Rylen Roersma was named player of the game after he went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times. The win gives the Rainbow Mermaids a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2040.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when shortstop Kjartan Einarsson, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Rainbow Mermaids organization, hit a triple. The Rainbow Mermaids went on to win.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Einarsson.

Game 3 is set to be played Tuesday, October 18th, 2039. Slated to start are Will Hunting for New Orleans and Ratko Davidovic for Northern Virginia.
