Host Lakers Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -
|
Game was big. So was Horiuchi Tanaka.
The Houston starter rose to the occasion at LA Forum today, earning player of the game honors after leading the 1837 BBC to a crucial 6-3 victory over the Echo Park Lakers. Tanaka threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball as the 1837 BBC won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 2040.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Javier Seco, the slugging first baseman . Seco contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Houston up, 1-0.
"We aren't quitting," Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun said. "Yeah, the odds are definitely in their favor, but they've got to earn it."
