Almost There: Houston On Cusp of R2040 Triumph After 4-1 Win

Game was big. So was Robbie Betchley.
The Houston starter rose to the occasion at LA Forum today, earning player of the game honors after leading the 1837 BBC to a crucial 4-1 victory over the Echo Park Lakers. Betchley threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball as the 1837 BBC won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 2040.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Adam Smith, the 24-year old first baseman . Smith contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Houston up, 2-0.
Smith called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
