Host Rainbow Mermaids Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -

The Chicago Silver Sox moved to within one game of the Round 2041 today, downing the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids on the road at Atlantica by a score of 7-2. Silver Sox right-hander Forest Stanley was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Silver Sox a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2040.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Loring Rommel came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Northern Virginia pitcher Yoriyoshi Sugimoto, he hit a full count cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Chicago on top, 3-2.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Rommel told reporters after the game.
The next game is set to be played Monday, October 10th, 2039 in Chicago. The scheduled starters for the game are Eddie Kop for Northern Virginia and Rhys Maskell for Chicago.
