Screaming Eagles Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Mercer Island Grounds by a score of 2-1. Screaming Eagles right-hander Daryl Keirl was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Screaming Eagles a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-5 PL AA Championship.

Keirl was in the zone all game. He frustrated Ft. Polk South hitters while giving the Screaming Eagles 6.1 innings of quality work. Keirl threw 102 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 5 punchouts.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Keirl told the Mercer Island Today.
