Almost There: Chicago On Cusp of R2040 Triumph After 6-5 Win
The Chicago Silver Sox moved to within one game of the Round 2041 today, downing the Buffalo White Walkers on the road at Beyond the Wall by a score of 6-5. Silver Sox shortstop Bren Spillane was named player of the game after he went 2-4 with 2 triples, while scoring 2 times. The win gives the Silver Sox a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2040.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Michael Witt to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Silver Sox on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.

"It feels a lot better to be tied than to be behind, even if it is only one game," Chicago manager Brett Reichert said.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Stanford McCain for Chicago and Dave Dunn for Buffalo.
