Rails Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Round 2

Already in trouble in the 3L AA Championship, the Akron Blimps knew they needed a strong outing from their starter and good production on offense. They got one of the two.
The Blimps failed to put much together on offense and wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from right-handed starter Kazuhiko Higuchi, falling 2-1 to the Richland Rails at Goodyear Hanger Dome today. The loss put the Blimps in an even deeper hole -- they now trail Richland 3-1.
Richland used the timely hitting of Corey Hines to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rails on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning is contagious," said Hines. "We're looking forward to the next game."
