Long Island Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R1
The Long Island Ducks moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Hicksville Hounds at Ducks Park by a score of 4-1. Ducks right-hander Ian Carr was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Ducks a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 SL R Championship.

Kenny Wright chipped in for Long Island with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 2 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Carr.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Mike Hopkins for Hicksville and Juan Carmona for Long Island.
