SL R Championship Game 1 Victory for Lyons and Hicksville
The SL R Championship got off to a quiet start today, with the host Hicksville Hounds taking a low-scoring 1-0 win over the Long Island Ducks. Hicksville right-hander Damarco Lyons was marvelous at Hound Pound and was named player of the game. The Hounds now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

Lyons, a native of El Dorado, Kansas, was dealing all game. He kept Long Island hitters off-balance, while giving the Hounds 7.1 quality innings. Lyons threw 102 pitches, allowing 7 hits and striking out 9.

"Runs were at a premium," said Hicksville manager Wilber Moon.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Hicksville. The scheduled starters for the game are Manny Rodríguez for the Long Island Ducks and Edgardo Costello for the the Hicksville Hounds.
