Soto Handcuffs Caterpillars, Chukars Seize 2-0 Advantage in R1
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars got an exceptional performance from starter Javier Soto, who silenced the Grand Forks offense en route to a 11-0 shutout win in Game 2 of the 3L A Championship today. The Caterpillars could never get a bead on the right-handed Soto, who threw 8 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors. The Chukars now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 series.
Grand Forks had little success against Soto and his splitter. Soto tossed 117 pitches over 8.1 innings for the Chukars.
"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Idaho Falls manager Sherwood Baker told reporters.
The next game is scheduled for Sunday, September 11th, 2039. The scheduled starters for the game are Zuo-lin Liang for the Idaho Falls Chukars and Scott Alexander for the the Grand Forks Caterpillars.
