Third League Championship Game 1 goes to Kingston Township Thanks to Dale Snider
|
The Kingston Township Knights moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Long Island Lighthouse at Cloverdale Legion Park by a score of 4-3. Knights left-hander Dale Snider was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Knights a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 2nd and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Takenao Wakabayashi, who finished 5th in the 3L in triples with 5 in 2037, drew a walk. The Knights went on to win.
"We did enough to win," said Snider.
